Principal's Corner

Principal Douglas:

Hello, my name is Steven Douglas, I have had the privilege of serving as the Principal of Geraldine Claytor Magnet Academy since 2017.  Every day, I am committed to creating a school community where all of our PreK-8 students feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.  Together with our dedicated staff and families, my goal is to provide an environment that encourages academic excellence while also nurturing the social and emotional growth of every child.

Assistant Principal Borgnine:

Hello, my name is Brien Borgnine, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Geraldine Claytor Magnet Academy. I have been an educator for over 14 years, beginning my career as a classroom teacher before moving into roles as an instructional coach and now school leader. Throughout my journey, I have been dedicated to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally so they can reach their fullest potential. At Geraldine Claytor Magnet Academy, I am committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment for every student. My work includes supporting teachers in delivering high-quality instruction, collaborating with families as partners in education, and guiding students to make positive choices that prepare them for future success. I believe strongly in equity and opportunity, ensuring that every child has the tools and encouragement they need to thrive. One of my greatest passions is building meaningful relationships with students, families, staff, and the larger community because I know that strong connections drive strong outcomes. I also enjoy sharing motivational messages with students, helping them build resilience, confidence, and pride in themselves and their school. I am proud to be part of a community that values innovation, diversity, and excellence in education. Together, I look forward to celebrating our students’ achievements and continuing the tradition of success at Geraldine Claytor Magnet Academy.
